yep I did it last year pulling a camper trailer with my 3 kids...loved it.

Best track eva.

We did it in July, and it took all day, with a 2 hour stop over at Suprise Falls...its a must! We Wish we had of planned to o'nite there.

The water crossings were deep but it never came in the car...and I did loose my handbrake, which got fixed at the next service.

Im driving a 2 year old gxl v8 landcruiser, but I did hear that a Xtrail went through and managed to get a lot of water in the car. The reynolds river was the scariest, cos you have to turn between a narrow passage of trees at the deepest part of the crossing...you are driving through a lot of water for a long time. Pebbles lay on the bottom of the creek. The kids got a bit concerned as crocodiles signs are everywhere.

I would onite at lichfield c/van park, then onite at Suprise falls...take water, then plan to onite at Kathrine....it takes a while to drive through that track.

good luck, and dont do it unless its the dry season and check the river height with the c/van parks before you head off.

cheers

Good stuff zha zha, sounds better than i expected, we will be there late july, yes i was planning to check the depth of the reynolds with the ranger or c/park managers, i dont think my camper will handle much over 500mm before it takes in water, i read somewhere that someone was taken by a croc at the reynolds crossing only 2 or 3 years ago, glad to hear you loved it and thanks for the reply and advice.

taken by a croc? you have to wonder what they were doing. If I remember rightly they were fishing in it or something. Just driving through, crocs tend to shy away. Last wet was really wet, so Im thinking this dry you shouldnt have as much water around.

Ill be up in September. Have fun
