Sail track "bracket" to attach tarp eyelets etc to van sail tracks

Submitted: Sunday, Jun 01, 2008 at 20:39

PradOz

Sometime ago I spotted on ebay a new gadget invented by a guy that slid inside the aluminium sail tracks on caravans. from memory It had a metal loop on it that allowed you to attach tarps etc by connecting thru the eyelet/rings rather than using a rope edge.

Has anyone seen these or know how to get in contact with the guy that has created these? He has seemed to stop advertising on ebay.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

Hi PradOz,

If you are talking about the same thing that I think you are, they are readily available at most marine supply stores.

They are like a short length of neoprene/fibreglass rod about 9mm in diameter with a lug on the side.

They are known as sail track slugs, and slide through the aluminium sail track with the tarp attched to the lug on the sides.

I have them on my shade tarp for my caravan, work well too.

Google is your friend; look under sail track/fittings and go from there.

Hope this helps

T-Ribby,
You need them spaced about 450-500mm apart along the annexe fabric/poly/tarp.
They work well but have one minor little drawback.
They leave a small (12-14mm) gap between the van and the annexe and a certain amount of rain drips through.
Not enough to be a PITA though.
