We are heading for Menindee on the 11 July and up to Cameron Corner via
Broken Hill just wondering places to see and places to camp and throw in a line
that someone can recomend. We will be heading back to the big smoke via
Burke and the Pilliga Scrub.

There has been some recent discussion on this area. Suggest a search under Cameron Corner or Broken Hill. Another good place to see is Mutwingee National Park.

All the places that have been mentioned are worth including in your trip. Menindee lakes, part of Kinchega National Park is a must only if there is enough water in them- Check with NSWPWS. Last time I was there I camped at the Cawdilla Camping area right beside Lake Cawdilla. Small area with pit toilet but only suitable for tents because they have the camp site ringed by logs. Walk 50m and your on the lake. There are also hot showers at the Historic Woolshed which we used, about a 15 minute drive from this campsite.

If you take in Mungo you can look at Pooncarie and then take the road on the western side of the Darling and come into Kinchega the back way rather than going to Menindee and into the lakes.

I reckon Mt Poole and Milparinka are a must. Not far off the Silver City Highway. Even if only to stop at the pub for a meal. If your interested in history its worth visiting Sturts camp where he was stuck for six months during a drought.

we camped on the Darling in Kinchega, Mungo is a day visit at the most but hook up with a tour group, they have the ins and outs of the place and the aboriginal history is amazing, gives one a real insight into the cultural link with the land that the australian aborigines have.

took a couple of lazy drives around Kinchega and then over to Broken Hill for a couple of days.

You could spend a month in BH and not see it all.

all the bestSo many places to go!
So much work to do :0(
