Do the people that you are renting out to have their own contents and insurance? You could offer to pay the difference in premiums to the tenants to cover your contents? You could always say you were only away for a week (if there was a claim) and the people were house sitting! All sneaky solutions, but ways around the insurance companies (I used to work for one). Do you have a formal lease arrangement? Obviously, to leave your contents, there is an element of trust involved. All questions that would need to be answered before a solution could be formulated.
Good luck with your travels, see you there!

Thanks for your input.
I don't have any real worries about the stuff left behind as the Land lord policy should cover that, the problem I have is how can I cover the personal items such as jewelry, camera, laptop etc which will be in the caravan , car or on us.
