Not much you can do if they arent interested...

All the legal channels would take time, maybe Landcruiser club if he is in it?

Id be jumping up and down and ringing the highest places in Toyota to get some action.
Short of that the only other options are trying to source a s/h one from wreckers to get you home, (probly not so easy in Darwin) or offering to pay the frieght to fly one over.
(Id demand they pull one out of a new one off the showroom floor to get me going)

I cant beleive with the amount of Landcruisers around there is not a diff in aust, to me thats poor. But unfortunately becomeing rather common with a lot of imported vehicles.

I guess its not both diffs, and if he want to get home, why not get them to pull the driveshafts out of whatever diff is stuffed and drive home onthe other, did that with a toyo in the Wonnangatta years ago, drove home in FWD.

Then take Toyota to task when you get home.

Good luckSo many places to go!
So much work to do :0(

lodge a complaint with toyota head office ,once you have complained to them it leaves you open to lodge an official compliant with minstry of fair ttrading who will take up the fight on his behalf , companies do not like fair trading to be involved as if enough copmlaints are recieve fair trading can prosicute or even deregister a company so they tend to move hevan & earth to solve the problem

Big John,

What a good bloke you are offering your diffs for replacement.

How is the TD cruiser with independant front suspension? I've been a bit reticant to buy one as I like live axles? Have you noticed any problems? Or, is that why you fitted lockers?

I'd be keen to hear of your experience with the TD. Anything I should be aware of?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Mike

Mike, After owning a 60 series, 80 series and a 100 series live axel Cruiser and listening to all the so called experts whom had never driven an ifs cruiser I was the same as you when I looked at the new td cruiser. With this being the case I fitted a rear air locker as soon as I got the car. With just the rear locker this ifs cruiser went more places at Landcruiser Park than any of my previous cars.
Since owning my td cruiser I have now done 1 East / West crossing of Australia and Cape York towing a camper plus a lot of small weekend trips, a total of 85,000k and not had 1 problem (not even a rattel).
The car has since had a number of mods which has made the car just awesome.
These being:
1. Detronics chip, 3" exhaust & Turbo bust giving over 30% increase power
2. Front and rear air lockers.
3. Larger front torsion bars and 50mm lift HD rear springs.
4. Bilstein shocks all round.
5. 170lt reserve fuel tank plus 95 in the main.
6. OX hydrolic winch C/W oil cooler(mounted in a TJM Bar.)
7. Cooper 285 ST tyres.
8. Icom UHF, Garmin Street pilot 111 GPS and Sat Phone.
9. Outback draw system in rear.
10. Fitted a true duel battery system with larger batteries. (The standard duel battery system is not a true duel system.)
11. Spare tyre swing rack on rear.
12. TJM side steps that don't bend when you go over a bump.
13. Glind Hot water system.
14. 85 lt water bladder.
And for a good nights sleep we take a Kimberley Kamper complete with 10' Tinny, 15 HP Honder motor and fold up trailer.
If the above does not have you envious, we only have 35 more sleeps until we head to the Kimberlies, down the Canning and back across the Simpson.
Any way I recon you should not think twice about an IFS criuiser, with just a rear dif lock they are streets ahead of anything else( p.s. I'm not bias as I also currently own a GU patrol wagon, Navara STi twin cad, Hilux twin cab, Hilux surf, Landcruiser Ute, 100 series petrol wagon and Suzuki XL 7 Grand Vitara)

Good luck
Big John

Try one or your local ARB agent they may have spares from a job where they have fitted air lockers
I am at a loss as to how a broken cv could damage the diff head
