G'day Willem
Just having a look at the Lake Mackay area...did you happen upon a place either Thomson??-Thomas??-Thompson?? Hill. I think it may be a tad North of your location..
We set up a antenna array on that hill in 1970 (in the Army)..trying to get a link down to Giles..

G'day Signman

There are Thompson Hills near Percival Lakes but they are over near the CSR. Then there is Thomas Hill in the Warburton Ranges. Thomson Hill is south of Perth.

1970 is waaaay back in the dark ages. Can you remember that far back? LOL I have difficulty.

Yes. We had considered going west to Yagga Yagga via Lake Lukas and in the direction of Thomas Peak but the spinifex was very dense and so we opted to skirt the lakes instead and head north to Ngulupi Outstation and Balgo.

Hi Willem,
glad to hear of your safe arrival home. I believe you are heading off again, once repairs are made to your vehicle. Where are you heading off to next?

Hi Annette

We are going for a short jaunt to Central Victoria tomorrow to meet up with some amateur prospectors and hopefully to learn something about finding the shiny stuff.

Thanks once again for your help while we were out in the desert.

Just had to clean up the GQ radiator and repack the trailer. All systems go!!!!...lol

Well it beats your sticker at Veevers Crater.

Is that where the rockhole is? It certainly looks like a likely spot on google earth. From the '57 report - "a permanent rock pool at the head of a creek which drains into Lake Hazlett". Is that Nicker Creek?

I notice than in Peter's picture of it there is a lot less water in it now than the one on the web: Labbi Labbi

Your challenge to "beat it" has been noted. I will do my best lol.

Cheers
Alan

Yes, it is close to the rock hole. Water capacity of the rock hole is down by 50%.

Still, about 2000 Zebra, Painted Firetail and Double Bar Finches kept us amused with their antics at the waterhole. They would fly up the small gorge with the noise of an approaching jet....lol

Yes, it does qualify but where is the sticker?....LOL

Funny, I never get time to think of Geocaching or Confluencing. Too busy looking where to put the front wheels or walking along an escarpment looking for art or artefacts.

Enjoy your trip!
