hand winch (Big Haul)

Greetings all

Would appreciate advice on how to get "clutch" handle on Big Haul into position. I can move it in right direction but cannot get it forward far enough to "lock". Therefore cannot insert cable. Is there a trick or am I just too weak in my old age. I have resisted the temptation to whack it with a lump of 4x2.

Appreciate any tips.
Regards Terry

Hi Terry.

Had the same problem when I first tried to hook up my Big Haul. Got help off this forum then. I have a User manual in .pdf format if that is of any use to you. I just need your email to send it to you.

Alternatively, I just tipped it up and pushed the "lock" thing and it moved quite easily. The clutch separated and the cable inserted easily. As they say in thye classics ... "easy when you know how".

Cheers
Jack

Hello Jack

Sorry to be a nuisance but....

I tried the winch on most angles known to man but couldn't get any positive movement on the locking handle. Ignorance in this case is not bliss, at this stage its winch about 9 (bruises etc) and me nil.

Would like to know whether or not the handle actually "locks" up in some positive way or just moves across towards the levers in some undefined way.

Any advice appreciated. Hope my email address reached you, if not address on profile works Regards Terry

Hi all.

Following on from Terry G's initial posting, I did a video of how to get the clutch back on a Big Haul winch. I still have it, so if anyone wants a copy, email me at my hotmail address trav-eller @ hotmail . com ... ( omit the spaces in the address) and I will be more than happy to send off a copy. Alternatively, you can also get me through Member Messages.

Cheers
