OIL prices are showing the first tentative signs of easing in the face of a global economic slowdown, dropping almost $US11 in three days.

If they went up by same we would be slugged immediately.

See if landy can explain this one.

May because upper Siberia had a cold snap that's why they cant drop the price at the pump.

All the best

Oh come on Eric,
the oil companies still have dear crude in their tanks, Surely you can't expect them to take a loss when the commodity price drops, that would be unfair wouldn't it?

I mean look how they care for their customers when the boot is on the other foot. I am sure they wait for the cheaper crude to clear their tanks before they put prices up, don't they?

Whoops, I seem to have a tongue wedged firmly in my cheek here......LOL

ACCC, What a waste of taxpayers money that mob of oxygen thieves they are

Anyway they fit in well with this RUDDERLESS government we finished up with. What's the betting Mr. Rudd does not get to the next election, with his false fuel promises (plus groceries etc.) during the lead up to the election.

This charging into this carbon trading when we only emit 2% of the total output in the world will wreck the few remaining manufacturers and exporters we have left in this country, let alone the extra costs on the already strugglind households.

Mr. Howard had a Work Choices ideollogy that wrecked him,
Mr.Rudd has climate change on his agenda to be implemented full
on straight away- will wreck him.

If there was not money involved for the government, it would (carbon trading) be introduced measured and very slowly.

Get all your travelling and 4x4 trips over and done with quick, cause with in 10 years caravans , camper trailers and long distance trips will be like horses and carts, nearly non existant.

Got rid of that!! Nick.

Hi Eric

It is a positive sign and I'm sure that the price will reflect lower crude oil prices. There will always be a lag both up and down.....

I'm looking forward to lower prices as much as everyone else...

Enjoy your weekend.

Yeah they might drop Petrol prices, but Diesel will still stay the same,
you never see Diesel fluctuate, any how Elma Fudd Rudd wont get
his high G S T percentage to finance there perks ect, it takes a lot
to go on his Junkets in his Jet and stay at 5** Star Hotels, it beats me why they have to Screw the Aussie Tax Payers, they haven't got
a Conscience, thats my whinge for the month, lol.

That's why petrol prices here are now 3cpl dearer this week than last week after a drop in the crude oil price.

Yeah right the lag is bs takes less than a day to put it up but a week or more for it to go down and then less than what it should.

Im sick of thinking about the price of fuel and how much it gunna cost....its gunna cost me and arm and 2 legs at the moment....I just dont drive for the hell of it anymore.....well...havent done in 5 yrs anyway!!

If figured that its better than paying for a taxi to pick me to go do the shopping cos that would cost me $40 and its better than pushing a trolley the 5km home with 3 kids so I just put up with it!

3 kids about to be 7 hehehe

I averaged about $0.40 per km for the trip to Innamincka maybe I should ease the right foot off and get some work done on the fuel pump and injectors :)

Hi Laura

Yeah $40 for a Taxi,

You get into the Taxi, the driver turns the Meter on,

You spend 15 minutes trying to explain how to get there because
they cant read a Map or read Street Names, no Speakie the English,
mean while the Meter has ticked over $20,

Next thing he takes the Wrong Exit off the Freeway and has to go
an extra 5 ks to get to where you want to go $10,

Then when you get there, he pulls up and tells you to get the Pram
out of the Boot, while you struggle with the other kids, and if you ask him to do it thats another $5.
Taking a Taxi in the Outer Suburbs is a Indian Nightmare.

Cheers

Laura, from I have been hearing, if you were to actualy put some rum in the rum balls then it might ease the pain of how much fuel is costing. Every time it goes up, just have another rum ball!! (with rum in it ) LOL & cheers

Don’t want to upset people, but fuel prices are dropping this week here in NZ. Both diesel and petrol are down .06c since Wednesday. Not much but at least it’s in the right direction.

With the further falls last night there should be a drop of 20 cents per litre soon.

The oil cartels have always stated that $1 per barrel = 1 cent per litre so since the price per barrel has dropped $20 we should see some serious reductions this week.......

Insert 'Pigs Flying' pic here..........
