Nissan TD 42 engine problems

Has anyone had a bad experence with a Nissan TD 42 engine repair, after cooking the engine due to loss of coolant?
Can anyone recommend a engine repair shop that specialises in nissan engines?
Also, what is the story with the change in pistons from a heaver (more expensive) to a lighter (cheaper) one? around about 1995?
help will be appreciated.

Join Patrol $WD group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Patrol4WD/ as the people there will know. One guys brother has performance rebuilt a TD42 himself for mega grunt.

I'd say that not many would specialise in Nissan, as not that many need rebuilds, comparatively to other makes. The piston change is fact & it affects (one factor) the amount of turbo boost that can be used - 17psi can be done on the older heavier pistons but about 10-12 is the max for the newer ones (I think). I have heard it is earlier than 1995 though, about 1993 I think?
