Article Overview - Finding Wildflowers in WA
Many people stumble across wildflowers in their travels and then wonder how they can find more. In this detailed article we explain how and why the state of Western Australia is world renowned for being the Wildflower State. View Full Article...
Hi all, we are planning a trip next week north / northeast of Perth to view the wildflowers. Appreciate feedback from any members who may have recently been there and who could recommend the best spots to visit.

Also, we would appreciate info on any recommended bush camping sites up that way.

Cheers, Old Mal (going to smell the flowers)

Mate you haven't said how far you wanted to travel but I believe they are very very good Mingenew/Mullewa/Chapman valley way Good camp sights are Ellendale pool out of Geraldton and Coalsteam park between Mingenew and Mullewa.Went out 2 Sunday's ago from Geraldton but didn't go far enough east for the best flowers but the canola crops were a picture.
Ended up at Ellendale Pool there were 3 vans in a group and one guy had put his running Genset behind the Public BBQ so they couldn't hear it.As it was lunch time people were using the BBQ if it had been me I would have picked it up and plooked it back in the middle of their group.

A really special place to visit is the Western Flora Caravan and Tourist park near Eneabba.

The owner is a Naturalist and does a guided tour and a session on the wildflowers of WA, how they evolved etc.

A great spot to stop over for a day or two as well.

We just came down from Murchison to Mullewa last week and the wildflowers were awesome and everywhere on that road. Also from Murchison up towards Mt Augustus is also pretty good. There were plces that we coldnt drive more than 1 or 2 kms without stopping for another photo.

This year is supposed to be one of the best for some time now I believe.

Folks staying with us went out in search of flowers yesterday but didn't find much - only went as far north as Gin Gin and as far south as Guildford. Saw lots of lilys, but no everlastings. Said the Walyuna NP was very nice though.

It is actually better to get out of the metro area to see wild flowers.
