Manual locking hubs on 80/100 'cruiser

Has anyone out there fitted the manual locking hub kit to their 80/100 series 'cruiser? I would much appreciate your comments as to whether the mod was worth the money at the expense of losing ABS. Thanks

As mentioned above I don't believe you loose the ABS functionality, the part time 4 X 4 is a transmission bit not a braking bit, as far as I know anyway.Keep the shiny side up

YOU USE DIFERANT CV joints and you change the t/case abit
I got my 80# dun at L.C.4X4 PARTS IN QLD 0746696639 AND there even got a
part time g/box + t/case in stock as of 2 weeks ago .

Talking to a guy about his part time setup, he ised 40 series hubs that fit straight onto the constant c/v joints. Didnt know that myself, but did know there must be a hub available to do the job, ie Factory 80 hubs fit shorter c/v joints, so there must be a hub that fits the longer constant c/v and the 40/60 hub is it.

Thanks for the interest. The part time 4x4 conversion I'm talking about uses manual locking front hubs and as far as I'm aware there is no mechanical changes made to the transfer case. The center diff-lock button in the cab then becomes a 4x4 engage button, presumably the center diff would normally be locked when the front hubs are free-wheeling to allow torque to go to the rear drive wheels. The ABS is lost in this set-up because Toyota has placed the stator ring for the ABS sensor on the dirve shafts, which means that if the front drive shafts are not turning, ie 2WD mode, then there is no feedback for the ABS. This is the $600 kit available from Marks 4WD adaptors and other suppliers around the country.
