Diffs often get forgotten about when it comes to oil changes,not unusal to have them go at that mileage (but they can last longer).

80 series dont usually rust too often, more so with a caring owner

Ask if you can see a cold start,meaning that it hasnt been started since the day before.
If it has good compression and fuel system,it should only have a second or two of greyish smoke .
It should start almost immediately and run smooth.

At this age the Denso fuel pumps begin to die. Ask if any work that has been done.
Pumps and injectors rebuilds can easily hit $2000+ for a 1HZ
Usual sign is they lose power ,when warm at high speed as the pump expands and loses pressure.

It has a timing belt that needs changing at 100000 klm intervals.Its cheap and easy,but it has to be done

I think the point is that a new head and new diffs mean the vehicle was ill-maintained and thrashed off road... I would personally steer clear of this one, seek out another :)
