The Southern section of the
Bore Track ("huge flatland") is on private property (Bollards Lagoon Station) and that is why there is a token fee applicable.
The northern section is on Government land (
Innamincka Regional Reserve) and if this section has been graded recently, it is the first time in a long, long while.
Oh, and by the way, it depends on which direction you travel as to whether the Bollards Lagoon section is the "end of the track" or the start of it:-)
It is certainly worth the effort of travelling it all the same.
Another Track worth a mention is the Old
Strzelecki Track, between
Innamincka and Merty Merty, where it joins up with the Track between the New
Strzelecki Track and Camerons Corner.
The Old Strkelecki Track is more of a sand or dirt based surface and more enjoyable than the rubble based new one IMHO.
