Shipment of BFG KM2 tyres arrived in Australia on FRI 04/09/2009. So if anybody is waiting on these [like me] They are not far away from your local dealer.

Never found the noise of the BFG's to be an issue as the LC's have really good sound proofing. Different with the windows down of course and driving beside a concrete barrier that bounces the tyre noise back at you. But generally speaking most mud tyres are alot quieter than they were 20 years ago.

I find I also get less roo strikes with muddies...must be a noise that they don't like.

I haven't tried BFG M/T before, but my previous two sets of Bridgestone M/T haven't been excessively noisy. Used to have a tall chiming clock years ago, after a while you didn't even notice the chime.

apparently they are fairly soft, and wear out reasonably quick. few used sets forsale on few forums too.

On my second set of BFG KM Muds. Got 75,000KM from the first set and the current set are on track to do the same.
About 50% bush tracks and outback touring.
I don't find them as noisey as a set of Cooper STC's I had on a previous NM Pajero.

I will be interested to hear the feedack on this particular tyre. We've got a set of the Goodyear MTR with Kevlar being fitted today for testing and I am contemplating putting a set of the BFG's one one of our other cars as a back to back comparison
