G'day Cobber,
When I created the Treknotes for the
Bloomfield Track, I started at
Cape Tribulation and headed north.
While I didn't experience any adverse conditions, the drive was not quite "easy" either. A few weeks earlier to my trek, someone attempted the causeway crossing (which was under water) at the Bloomfield River and was washed sideways into deep water. Fortunately, when the river is flowing fast like this, it tends to keep the "lizards" away, but boy, I think the driver would have needed to change their undies afterwards.
Sometimes the trip is a "walk in the park" and sometimes it is undo-able, due to high water in the creek/river crossings.
Unfortunately, the road will probable be completely sealed in due time and another great country trek will be gone forever.
Bill.
