Very interesting Mark. I heard her say they were putting them in the new model Exploder...I mean Explorer. Won't see many on the outback roads then LOL.

it would be good to see ALL car makers adopt these belts.
Having been in the fire and rescue for 12 years and seen the results ( as good as seat belts are in saving lives, they can inflict injury as well),these look like they might prevent more deaths in the future.

Pretty sure it will come to pass but we'll have to pay extra for it initially just like we did for airbag models in the past. Can't believe the Yanks still dont have compulsory seatbelt legislation in many, if not most of their states. Crazy.

Will they still work with inertia reels or would the belt be too bulky? If they don't work with inertia reels it will be a step backwards in encouraging people to wear them, let alone having them properly adjusted.

actually seat belts are cumpulsory in all US states
only thing that varies is weather only the front people need to wear them and in some states a ticket can only be issued if they are oulled up for a more important traffick violation
