Insignia Identification

I have been swapping photo's with a woman in Minnesota , she has sent me many that her Dad took during the war around Charters Towers and Iron Range, she wants to know what the insignia is on the surfboard , location is unknown ,

I would say that it is the company that made the board. There is a shooting star company making skateboards.

Can't give you an answer, but it is vaguely familiar. It may just be coincidence but I think I have previously seen that, or something very similar, as nose art on a WW2 USAAF bomber, or possibly a USAAF unit patch. That would tie in with your contact's reference to Charters Towers and Iron Range.

If I can track anything down I will get back to you.
