We have the VMS released last year. But the new one is motorised and if its anything like our TV in the house car it is not worth taking the chance. No motorise stuff thanks.

We don't want a computer of any kind in the car. Apart from the one under the bonnet that is. I worked on computers since 1970 and that's the last thing I want to see when on a trip. Its bad enough that my wife takes her mobile. Mines in the drawer flat and that's where it stays. No phone, no computer, no internet and best of all no phone calls. Freedom.

How would I get Oziexplorer to run? No need for detailed info. Currently the program and its maps reside on an 8 Gb SD card and the VMS runs it fro the card.

Maybe its the same and the box "knows" when GPS is selected the card is used. ?????

The unit has an SD Card slot, usually used to run the Navi software - basically it is Windows CE and you just have to trick it into running Ozi instead.

In the model I have it doesn't handle SDHC which are the newer more common SD cards. It can only handle up to 2GB cards..which can be a pain for multiple maps - you just have to setup a card for each map set.

All this is based on my experience with the unit I have (1615) so no warranties :)

Is there a kind of menu or applicatio loading system on the basic box that you enter or select the application on the card for GPS?

A real nivice here. But I know windows down to BIOS level. Even wrote my own bios back in the 80's because MSDOS is full of errors and still is. But Windows CE - hmmmmmm.
