Anyone been to Chiltern, Colac or Meningie lately? Any water?

Hi all,

In December '09 and Jan '10 we travelled from Syd -> Kangaroo Island and back.

Water levels were very low in the above places (Lake Anderson in Chiltern just had a few ponds and had been dry 'for years' according to the locals, Lake Corangamite at Colac was low and Lake...is it Albert or Alexandra in Meningie was also down).

With all the wet weather, has this improved? Would love to see some recent pix.

Thanks,

Ade and Liz

Lake Alexandrina is filling rapidly and the bund between it and Lake Albert has been removed/broken and it too is now filling again. Water flowing into the coorong for the first time in 2-3 years and the Vic flood water has not arrived yet!

Does living in Colac apply?? Lake Colac is filling but still a long way off from being used for recreation purposes. Lake Corangamite can now been seen from the main road. Once again covering the area but still pretty shallow. Can take a picture tomorrow.

Thanks to all and apologies for confusing my lakes around Colac.

Of course Corangamite is the one off in the distance when you are on the highway.

We're chuffed that water levels are on the up. When we were in Chiltern there was a Jack Russell chasing a rabbit through the reeds on the dry lake bed and a few kids angling for whatever unfortunate fish remained in the puddles.

Regards,

Ade & Liz
