Hi All
I have just received these great photos from a chap that I have given a few details to in the past.

I will now post them on behalf of Brett who took these photos at his farm near Mt Beauty.

Thanks Brett

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Marc
Brett wanted to share them, so the credit must go to Brett.

There must be great flowers out your way when they do flower. Your pictures would be more important, as you could include what the locals call them and if they had a special purpose for them.

I read you last post the other day and all that rain will bring new life to the country.

Keep Dry

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Stephen

I will cortrect you there, my pictures would be of equal importance to anyone elses. Sure I would do my level best to get any local knowledge and use for such plants, but any information I can depart is no better than what others share.

Cheers

Hi Richard
Brett as far as I am aware is a visitor to the site. We have exchanged a number of emails when he was heading up to have a ride on the Cooper Ferry and see the flowers at Roxby.

It goes to show the great variety of native flowers that are across our country.

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Robin
Yes indeed. These are the pictures that we all dread. I see on the news yesterday that they have started over in the West.

You must have a few good pictures from your place Robin?

Cheers

Stephen

Stephen, a couple of books that I carry with me that you may find helpful.
First one is a "Field Guide to the Plants of Outback South Australia" by Frank Kutsche and Brenday Lay I bought it through our local DEH office here in Berri about 4 years ago. It has a State Govt Natural heritage Trust emblem on it. ISBN 0 7590 1052 8
The other is "Wildflowers & Plants Of Inland Australia" by Anne Urban
ISBN 0 646 41688 X

Both are excellent references.

Hi Al
Thanks for that. I might give the local office here a call tomorrow to see if they can get them.

There must be lots of good plants to photograph your way?

All the Best

Stephen

G'day Stephen, There are a few around here at times LOL but who has the time to look around here lately. Life is just too busy to take the time to smell the roses lately. I take lot's of photo's of flowers when on our trips and have some great shots. My favourite native plant is the Wreath plant that grows in the West. Unfortunately, I don't have membership privileges to post photo's here.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for sharing them with us. I pull the top one out of my garden all the time. I reckon it's a weed in my area.
We think it would be good to know the medical usage for them (Herbal Remedies).
Take care,safe travels.
Bye Ma.

Hi Ma
It was good of Brett to send them to me so I could post them. There must be so many local native plants that would have medical usage and it would be great to know what one they are.

All the Best and If I do not have any further contact between no and the New Year, have a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for your wishes & we wish your family warmest greetings of the season & every good wish for the coming New year .
Take care,safe travels.
We live at the foot of the Otway Ranges on the inland side in the National Park. We live here because our work is here. If it wasn't we wouldn't be here. I used to love this time of year when we lived near the beach. Now I hate it,for reasons Robin has shown with his photo.
Take care, safe travels.
Bye Ma.
