Hi all,
Hope that Santa brought YOU ALL a new RV or van..... 'cos I missed OUT!!!!!' NOT HAPPY JAN!

All the very best wishes to you all for the new year.

has anyone used or heard of Zip-Vac being used?

It seems a pretty easy to use manual cryovac system. Not all that cheap but if it works... I can save on battery power by using a hand one.

cheers

Marcel

Marclel,
Hi they are not that expensive, remember the bags are multi usage-able. We have a vacuum sealing system that I bought at a Caravan show and would not be without it. The vacuum unit is pretty bulky bit I can make my own bags and must be used on 240V AC. We also have larger containers that you can put delicate stuff in eg cream cakes and vacuum them down and without damage. Now these are expensive but should last a very long time. We do use these every day.

With the bags we keep them wash them out and and reuse them until such times as they are too small to able to be sealed. This Zip-Vac bag would be ideal for a lot of people. My main concern with the product is how long the little pumps would last .

They seems to be available from a lot of places so have a look at them . I f you don't have any vacuum sealing systems these would be a good place to start.

hi bjgard
watched demo video and it says its pugs into 110volts outlet - usa -you have mentioned 240v so does it come with an adaptor for aus power or does one have to buy an adaptor seperatelyfrom dse after the purchase as it makes no mention of 240 in the zip-vac add
cheers and have a ----- HNY ! well everyone will be shouting tonight

there is actually a 'hand' pump device. the electrical one is not available here.
the hand pump works similar to the vacuum pump used for wine bottles...

Hi Marcel,
The amount of power consumed sealing the bags is not a lot of drain on the battery.
As an alternative to the more expensive ones, I bought a good vacuum sealer from Aldi for $99 a few months back, and their bags are cheap as well. Works fine for me.
cheers
