Hello everyone, we are in the process of upgrading from our camper trailer to a caravan. We like the look of the Blue Sky Grade caravan from Melbourne. Has anyone got one or know of someone who has and any pros or cons with them. Have a few niggling concerns with the dealership but nothing major. Thanks in advance.

We are looking at a Blue Sky Woodland at the moment, sold only by Belarine Caravans at Corio near Geelong.

Looks the bees knees, but as you I have no direct user knowledge. I'll watch this too!

Not only sold there as plenty in Queensland for sale.

Saw truckloads of them going north through Coffs last year

Would be interested to know who makes them as quite a few new names
around in the last year or so.

Quality unknown on most of them.

Hey Jude !! I to have been looking at the bluesky range, they do look like a good package, i seen a number of threads on other forums in relation to the Bluesky range. one man in particular said he has done a lot of research on the van, and is very happy with the overall package, on price, construction, and finish, however he did warn other members about the manufacturer, as they did not exactly fill him with confidence for after sales service if any problems should arrive, he also stated that if you are doing any research on the Bluesky range, also research the ''FUSION'' Brand which is the name of the van that this company used to manufacture, why the name change ??
Just passing on what i have read on other forums, have not had the chance to broaden my own research as yet. But i do like the van. and it is still on my short list, Rgs dazren

How long have they been in production? I suppose if we see previous models that have been in circulation for at least five years or so then we can measure the quality I would think. There seems to be many brands that are manufactured in Campbellfield & Epping areas of Melbourne & shipped to QLD....I probably should pop in & ask why. We have been looking at vans for awhile now & although we are aware of "You get what you pay for"....I think I will stick with the "proven" names...IMHO

Dear Hayjude
I can answer your question. We bought a 17ft pop top Blue Sky caravan from Bellarine Caravans in Geelong in mid 2008. Since then we have used it on 2 major trips - one to Perth and up to Broome and return (about 15,000km) and last year to Darwin and across to Port Douglas and home down the QLD coast back to Melbourne (similar distance to trip one). We have also done a few smaller trips around Victoria.

The dealer was excellent and the van has been fantastic. I have been towing caravans around Oz for over 30 years and this has been the best van by far. Build quality is excellent and we have had no problems with any part of the van. No rattles or leaks, all secure and working well.

Cupboard and storage space is very good, layout is functional and very comfortable, items supplied (fridge, microwave oven, stove, lights etc) are all of excellent quality. It's a dream to tow (I have a turbo diesel Prado) - smooth and very stable.

Hope that helps. Any specific questions or queries - just ask.
Regards
Rob

Thanks for the info, that;s what i want to hear! from someone who has 'got one' and his honest opinion, my ref, to above thread related to the manufacturer [ and his handling of his previous brand [ Fusion ] not the dealer who i have spoken to and seems to be a pretty good type of bloke, but i was worried about what type of back-up the Dealer would get, from the Manufacturer if problems did arise ??
However if the van is good to start with, then it does not matter. as there should be no Major drama;s Thank you for your input dazren

thanks to all who replied. Same as dazren, needed to hear from someone who has had dealings with the caravan and/or manufacturer. Sister and brother in law checked out the caravan we were interested in and gave it a good report. We are looking at travelling to Geelong at the end of July to check it out and if all goes well will order one. No deposit until then. Thanks everyone and safe travels.

Hi, I used to work in a caravan dealership in Queensland selling Blue Sky Caravans so I know quite a bit about them. The company is run by a man called Chandra and he builds a very good quality caravan at a good price. After sales service was a little below average though. To clear it up as well, Blue Sky has absolutely no connection with any other manufacturer such as Paradise or Fusion (which is a model made by Imperial Caravans).

I now work for a factory located in Craigieburn, JB Caravans, selling caravans directly to the public. A lot of our workers, including the former foreman used to work at Blue Sky so our build quality and style is almost identical. We are located at 309 Hume Hwy, we have a classified listing here on ExplorOz and a few caravans for sale on Ebay at wholesale prices. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call on 0412 459 091
