John, I conduct 4wd training courses on beaches around QLD and was at
Stockton and Myall Lakes Beaches last week. Do not stress to much over corrosion with your car, firstly the manufacturing processes used by vehicle manufacturers has most offering a panel guarentee of 5-7 years. This is more than some rust proofers. I do not rust proof my vehicles even though I spend a lot of time on the beaches of
Fraser Island and Noosa North Shore. The warranties offered by some rust proofing companies often have a wide range of clauses in the event of a claim. Further some rustproofing compounds dont set and stay pasty causing sand and grit to stay stuck to your vehicle. Although not harmful try and tell that to the person interested in buying your car.
Importantly. Clean the car with fresh clean water, get in under the bonnet, under guards, and all the nooks and crannies. Get right underneath for a good clean out..
Let it dry and do it all again. Be careful of air intake and electrics under bonnet and let engine
cool.
Enjoy
Stockton it is a great place.
Cheers George
