have been there twice, very hard to stop the cancer if you dont coat the car with something, i had my 4x4 sprayed with endrust proofihg, waited a few weeks then stripped the car down and fish oiled everything. There is a oil station that sprays the under side of the car before you go over there and a wash and oil station when you get back use them and you will not have any rust at all.

I put an electronic box on my 1991 troopcarrier about 2 years ago. I reckon it is great. We travelled Aus for two years after that and did fraser, Cape york, beach runs etc. Always careful not to run car through salt though. I believe it also helped keep a deep shine in the panels of the vehicle. Still nothing beats washing and polishing the car regularly.

Go to any franchiseed car dealer and they all will have a rustproofing product available with a warranty
if rustproofing does not work the warranty will
electronic boxes also sold by some car dealers are the best product to use

John, I conduct 4wd training courses on beaches around QLD and was at Stockton and Myall Lakes Beaches last week. Do not stress to much over corrosion with your car, firstly the manufacturing processes used by vehicle manufacturers has most offering a panel guarentee of 5-7 years. This is more than some rust proofers. I do not rust proof my vehicles even though I spend a lot of time on the beaches of Fraser Island and Noosa North Shore. The warranties offered by some rust proofing companies often have a wide range of clauses in the event of a claim. Further some rustproofing compounds dont set and stay pasty causing sand and grit to stay stuck to your vehicle. Although not harmful try and tell that to the person interested in buying your car.

Importantly. Clean the car with fresh clean water, get in under the bonnet, under guards, and all the nooks and crannies. Get right underneath for a good clean out..

Let it dry and do it all again. Be careful of air intake and electrics under bonnet and let engine cool.
