Caravan awning protector

I've just replaced the vinyl awning on my five year old 'van (an expensive exercise) as it was delaminating due to UV damage . I keep it covered when I'm home but this is only 50% of the time.
I vaguely remember seeing a sleeve/cover of some sort that was available to protect that part of the awning which is exposed while on the road, any ideas ?

Michael, a bit over $750 including delivery, 14' awning and boom with pre-loaded spring mechanism, interestingly enough it was only $5 cheaper without the aluminium boom. I shopped around and bought it online. A&E Dometic.

Gooday Rob.
How about a length of sail track a little longer than the awning mounted it just below roof level.
Have your local trimmer make up a piece of canvas to slide into it, and hold it to the van wall with a few velcro dots, or use webbing straps to tie it to the chassis.

Hi Racinrob
Before you fit it to your van take it to your local upholstery guy and have a piece of canvas or vynal about 300mm wide sewn along the outside edge where it attaches to the van this then covers the awning when rolled up thats what i did to mine and has not caused any problems mine goes into sail track and it still went in OK with the extra layer used talk to make it slide as it was a bit tight
Cheers Kevin
