Just found out that registration of our caravan will cost us almost $500.00 in NSW for an 18ft van, previously it was about a 1/4 that much in Tasmania. Interested to know what people are paying in other states, it might be time to relocate again !

Same here in vic our 19' lotus $38.00, BUT TAXES ARE TAXES ??? In Vic just have a look at how much we pay on stamp duty when you buy a house ??? i think it is the highest of any state!! the state goverments all have a budget of income to achieve, they will all rip you off on one product or the other, So you can be sure, if they drop the caravan tax in NSW to the same as Vic, then they are going to tax something else, to recoup that money .dazren

I have paid my taxes since starting work at 15, it's unfortunate that my boss of 10 years has just skipped the country for a south pacific tax haven along with all staff entitlements I nominate him to make up the budget shortfall.

Qld Dept of Transport must have stuffed up with ours.

The dealer registered it when we purchased it in 2010.

We payed the rego for the first time in july this year.

On our compliance plate states that the Tare is 2192kg and the ATM is 3000kg

I'm not going to argue about that.

Cheers

A pensioner in NSW is only entitled to one cheap rego. Choose wisely.
On a similar note. If you buy a vehicle that has been registered by a pensioner, the purchaser must make up the difference when transfering into their name.

Dear friend do not despair if you are a age pen it is free for either the car or the caravan if your wife partner is a age pen you put her name on one of the vehicles and your name on on the other vehicle
Also your Driver licence is free if you are an age pen

You have plenty of time to gather more money over 25 years.

I just turned 64 and I am semi retired or is that retarded, anyway we would have no hope of getting a pension as we will be self funded.

All the battle scars I carry from working in our plumbing business over the years makes you wonder.

I say good luck to anyone who can get something from the government.
