Hi Guys,

Thinking of a couple of nights up at Bribie Island. Having never been there does anybody know if all the sites would be suitable for a Nissan Patrol with a rooftop tent and jumbo awning out the back or are there any that would be either too small or where the camping is set up away from where the patrol would be parked.

I'm thinking of the low numbered sites but a couple of pictures I've seen the sites seem to be the type where you are expected to pitch a tent away from the car on the other side of bollards.

Any recommendations on the best sites with a rooftop tent gratefully received, especially if they have a sea view :)

Cheers!

Roy...

Camped with another vehicle towing off road van in the northern most camp areas. may have been the second last one. I think you can get a plan online of the layout of camping areas.

We had plenty of room for my camper and the van. Very soft getting up off the beach and turning around in camp area.

Thanks Tony,

I found some pictures of the Northern/Higher Number sites and they look large and the web site says they are good for trailers so I think any of those would be fine, just not sure about the Southern/lower Number end.

Unfortunately when the powers that be write up site information they never think about roof top tents only trailers and stand a loan :)

Haven't been there for a while but if I recall correctly some sites may not have enough height for you due to overhanging tree branches.
If you don't get the answers you need here may be worthwhile giving the ranger a call.
