Crows Nest National Park
Crows Nest National Park is just outside the town of Crows Nest near Toowoomba....
I have read DERMs description of facilities at Crow Nest National Park and was wondering what "boil you own water " for a shower involves. Is it a bucket on a rope bush shower or a large wood fire boiler or some other method? Any info on your experience camping there in relation to facilities would be very helpful as we expect to be camping there end of May. Thanks all.

hi mate, facilities are pretty basic there so i would suggest whatever you use for a bush shower, take it.

hmmmm end of may huh, bloody cold here (gatton) today so end of may is going to be very nippy to say the least - take all your warm gear.

There is a donkey which is a 200l drum on its side . You light a fire under the drum to heat the water and when hot you pour cold water in from tap and hot water comes out of the spout. In the showers there is a shower bucket on a pully system. Just transfer water to the shower bucket and haul up. Unfortunately you can't turn the water off or control the flow so have everything ready. Also last time we were there the bucket in the ladies was missing.

It is a great campsite with limited numbers and scenic walks with plenty of wildlife including koalas, so enjoy.
