So many he says she says and so many misconceptions!
A chip that increases rail pressure is fine and will not make the pump fail any quicker then anything else.
If they made something that was running a 100% duty cycle the engineer in charge should start flipping burgers.
We have found chips that increase rail pressure will provide more low down torque and less up top end
and the ones that increase injector duration offers less torque down low and more up high ....... I like more down low torque.
There are so many performance chip manufactures in the world I would stay with one of the larger ones...... at least they may offer support when things go pear shaped.
It's funny how if something goes wrong with something the finger always gets pointed to the most obvious thing..... and the most obvious thing doesn't always cause the problem.
Why is it with these diesel EXPERTS..... two say don't and two others say do...... maybe these two EXPERTS don't sell that chip.
We ran a DP chip on our old D4D Hilux for 5 years and did 100,000K with no issues..... knew of many Hilux D4D's with half as many K's that didn't have a chip and had fuel delivery issues.
MATTCAR.... again stay with a known brand name.
All chips do the same thing to a degree.... increase fuel supply one way or another.
