Hi Palmtree,

We use the egg shell foam mattresses placed on top of mattress. Makes a big difference. Purchased ours at Harris Scarf.

Hi Palmtree,

We also use eggshell foam, the one we sold with the old camper came from Clark Rubber. Bought a Target one for new camper, still good, but the Clark Rubber one was worth the extra cost.

Palmtree - Yes, I have to agree with There Yet. The eggcrate mattress toppers (or underlay as they're sometimes called) are very good.
The missus and I bought one in Darwin, when we were given a rock hard mattress in a local hotel.
I seem to recall we bought it from Spotlight, and it was around $55 for a Double in 2008. They make a huge difference to hard mattresses. My missus is a big solid gal, she's 175cm and not far off your weight, as well.
We carry ours with us every time we travel, when using motels and hotels, just in case we get given a rock hard mattress again.

We had memory foam mattress toppers made to fit -from a bedding company in Adelaide (Elite Bedding) they come with washable covers and are absolutely fantastic so much so that we have been using them at home too. I think you can also buy them via the internet.
