Cattle Station Tours?

Fitzdog

Hi all,

Taking the family across the top end and all the way around the country. Have been trying to find a good cattle station tour. Conways in Katherine seems to be the only decent looking one that is within an hour or so of the main hwys.
Has anyone done this tour or know of any others that are good??

Thanks,
Paul.

Google Mt. Bundy Station and have a look. I am sure our good friend and member Doug T will take care of you.

Google "Kroombit Park" . It is 36 Km out of Biloela (QLD). You will
have a great time. It is sort of like Mad Max goes country, a laugh a minute.

Run by a big staff, but its a family business, (all stockmen / stiockwomen ).

Easy to get to all good roads. Plenty to do.

X2 on Kroombit, we went there last year and the kids loved it (we all did actually).
i will mention that the property is mainly aimed at the backpacker market IMHO, (but they do school groups aswell).... in saying that, the staff went out of their way to make sure our kids (and my mates aswell) had a fantastic time. i think the staff actually enjoyed looking after kids for a change instead of the usual backpacker clientel they get there. the meals they offered us were great eating and the bonus was pretty cheap to boot.
if you checkout the trip report i did last year http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=17519.0 on day 30 we go to Lochenbar Station / Kroombit Park
