Hi All,

Has anyone done Dunns in say the last 2 years or so?
Just wondered what the track was like? and whether I need to contact anyone for access to any parts of it?

All comments gratefully accepted

Hi Ian,

I led a club trip through there 2 easters ago and apart from it being extremely scratchy in places, it was otherwise a straight forward trip. No permits or permission is required for any part of it.

Enjoy it.

Regards

David

Last did it a couple of years back as part of a bigger trip

the first part from peak charles isnt actually dunns track, the actual Dunns track hasnt been used for many years and can barely be picked out its so overgrown.
The side tracks off from the survey line to the old wells and water holes can beactually pick up the dunns track.
I had an idea of following the actual dunns track but gave up after a couple of hundred metres as it wasnt much different to just straight crosscountry driving through very thick virgin bush

After Peak Elanor it can be diffivult to find camp sots due to dense broom bush.

when down the lower end dont be so quick to rush through the sparse landscape of the sand plains. Some of the southern rivers have thier headwaters there and poking around the low granite rocks can find a variety of wildlife

No contact is needed to travel it
