Hi Julie,
We headed out up the Arrabury road yesterday morning from
the Dig tree after it had showered overnight and after doing only a few kms of the very sticky red dirt we turned around and are going to
Windorah via a big loop through Eromanga and
Quilpie (where we are tonight).
We are towing a van and did not know whether it had rained more to the north but it was already filling the tyre treads and wheel arches. Also there is no way of getting up to date information when you are there so did not want to risk getting stuck!
The previous afternoon we spoke to a couple of people who had just travelled down it and they said it was in the best condition it had ever been...like a dirt highway.
The
weather has cleared and had we waited another day, or even a few hours, it probably would have been fine to travel . You will need to check as close as possible to your trip.
The country looks amazing...
Regards,
Heather
