Dear All
Am keen to know the current condition of these roads. In particular, we'd like to know the extent of the corrugations eg are they never ending or are they in infrequent patches. We will be towing our off-road caravan and don't fancy days of bumping along in 3rd gear.

Have searched the site, but couldn't find what we need to know.
Thanks very much
Megan

Hi Megan and Kevin,
Three weeks ago we travelled down the Buntine Highway and onto the Duncan highway. The Buntine was really good. We sat on 100 kph. We did pass one caravan (we have campers) The last 50 kms before Halls Creek, on the Duncan was the roughest. Halls Creeks shire should be ashamed!

Not terribly current, but 2 months ago the Buchanan was very good, no corrugations.
Duncan was good until the junction with the Buntine, then as Sue said above, corrugations.

Didn't do the Buntine.

We live down that way. Buchanan is good - read up on Jasper Gorge. Buntine is a one lane highway [with passing lanes at places] to Kalkarindji. - Post Kalkarindji slow down ++ at the creek crossings - a bit uneven. Duncan, as the others have said, pretty average in places. You wont be going fast (on all 3) as you will have to get off the road toot sweet for the cattle trains - those boys sit on 80ks - theres more than enough corners for them to hide in.
