I am led to believe there is a tape available with rope already in it to run in sail track, all you have to do is sew it onto whatever you want to secure to the sailtrack. Would be a lot easier than trying to sew rope into the edge of a tarp. I have searched on here and can't find anything, has anybody seen or heard of this stuff?

Just a question!!!
Do you just attach to the material-seemed too small or wrap around the saill track and sew -just seemed you had to wrap your material around and them sew seemed a bit bulky to me when trying with tarp material,Cheers,Mary

As the Pre- welded sail track (male) has the cord already in it & about 50mm of flat fabric you sew straight to the flat part, Make sure you leave about 5-10mm of flat before the welded cord or it will be hard to slide on to the track. As to how you sew it on it depends on the fabric being used on canvas I normally use a folded edge & 2 top stitches Make sure the thread is Strong enough & UV stable
Note you can even fit your canvas/PVC etc inside the flat area as it is split but you will end up with ugly white strip
