A group of us have just done a driver traing course with Eureka 4wd training here in WA (they advertise on this site ) it rained buckets full so a bit of extra water crossings were involved ,I must say that anyone in Perth that wants to learn or touch up on there skills should give this company a go , it was a lot of fun and I learned heaps as did the others with us .Born to drive a 4x4 , not a keyboard

I did the eureka course 18 months ago in my old pajero. The 2 things that surprised me was the thoroughness of the course and what could be achieved with a little knowledge. My wife also participated in the course and sometimes thinks she knows more than me. HA!

I too would be interested to know exactly where ypu went, especially if you were tackling water crossings. I run in-house 4wd training and use the Mundaring area. Our courses are normally in the summer and have little opportunity to demonstrate water crossing techniques. As we are now running a winter course I am looking for ideas.

Keith, may be too far for your training location but a good crossing is in Dwellingup. It's near Bob's crossing in the Lane Poole reserve. Alot of people have done it so you may already know about it. Good thing is it has a rocky bottom (not too rocky), clear water and is alot better than the bogholes full of mud which are not 'true crossings'. You have to check with CALM as I think they close it once it's too deep. There's another further up the Murray river but I haven't tried that one.
One of the better ones I come across near Perth.
