I woke up with a headache (surprise, surprise). It was a reasonably cold night and a chilly morning with the breeze. We lazed around drinking coffee, before getting around to cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast. After breakfast I went for a very much needed shower. I am now white once again.

I have just spent the last couple of hours downloading the video from the camera to the laptop so that we have an empty drive to capture more. Completed the fuel figures and was pleasantly surprised that we are currently averaging about 15.31 litres / 100 kms, which I am very happy with considering that we are towing the trailer, have the roof rack on and have been in 4 wheel drive travelling through plenty of sand.

We have just had a light lunch of nibbles and are currently charging all of the camera batteries. We are just planning on a lazy day hanging around Curtin Springs to rest and relax. We are planning a roast for dinner tonight, no doubt followed by some lubricating fluid. We will spend the day tomorrow down at Ulura and the Olga’s before heading off to King’s Canyon the following day.

We got the fire started at around 3:30 pm to prepare the coals for the roast. We had a rolled beef roast, stuffed with spinach, ham and cheese to look forward to tonight. After waiting about an hour or so for some nice coals, I prepared the camp oven, roast and veggies. Roast beef, potatoes, carrots and onions went in together, followed by the pumpkin and sweet potato about 30 minutes later. A tin of beans to compliment as well. The trouble with camp oven roast is always the gravy. Lots of beautiful pan juices for this one, so after about 1 ½ hours out came everything to be wrapped in foil, while I made the gravy. Another perfect roast in the bush followed by some nice red and finished with a nice port. We all sat around the fire for a while chatting, before heading off to bed at around 10:30 pm.
