Running Windows XP in a virtual PC

Submitted: Wednesday, Nov 12, 2008 at 00:00
I run my Windows XP inside a virtual PC, the program I use is called VirtualBox and will run on various platforms. I run Virtualbox in Ubuntu Linux 8.10 64bit on a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ with 2 gig of mem.
I tried running VirtualBox under Windows but found it slow compared to Linux.
With Windows XP running in a virtual PC inside Linux I turned off the firewall in Windows and then run ShieldsUP to carry out a scan on the ports in Windows, all 1000 ports were stealth. VirtualBox has the ability to take a snap shot the the virtual drive(Which is a file) so you can restore it if anything goes wrong. I have got my printer

to work from within the virtual PC via a virtual USB port and can update my Garmin from within the Virtual PC. All the above cost $00.00 except for XP which I bought when it first come out. I'm sold on Ubuntu Linux and predictions are that it may leapfrog Windows in the next two years.
Below is a video of the difference between Windows Vista and The Ubuntu Linux watch right to the end, its quite funny at the end.
