An interesting read and some good pictures. As someone that lived in Gove in the early 90's it brought back many good memories.
One of my favourite postings.
It sounds too as though the road/track has improved considerably, but still requires some careful negotiation in places. Too easy to ingest water going through some of the creek crossings.
You are so right about the many places to see, I guess we were very lucky to have lived there and enjoyed many of the secluded camping spots known to the locals.
Even better if you are into fishing and boating, the islands in the area are just to die for.
Australia really does have some magnificent places to visit.

Thanks for the comment Michael.
We found the area even better than we expected our only regret we had too little time there. I believe fishing now requires permits and is much less open than previously, but I'm reliably told it is great.
