We had an awesome time at Narrabeen with Erin and Brandon. The weather wasn’t really summery but mostly it was dry and we managed to get out and about. One day we caught the bus to Manley then the ferry to the city (Circular Quay). Ingrid had a bogey with the locals (see photo), we wondered around The Rocks and the Opera House. Another day we meet Brandon’s parents – Kim and Mary plus their two daughters Sam and Rachael. Erin and Brandon spent some time with Brandon’s family in the Hunter Valley and we had a couple of days down at the beach kayaking and swimming.
On Christmas day we packed up and drove down the coast to Mollymook and had Christmas with Brandon’s family. It was a lovely day and we all ate well. No photos of that day unfortunately.
On Boxing Day we said goodbye to Erin, Brandon and his family and we went down the coast to Batemans Bay for a couple of days before we headed into the hills for Canberra.
We’ve had a week in Canberra, staying at the Eagle Hawk Caravan Park just north of the city (and across the border into NSW). We have really enjoyed Canberra; the weather has been warm and the sights and sounds incredible. We visited the War Memorial and Parliament on the first day and were impressed with both places - Ingrid really enjoyed the Nurses exhibition at the War Museum.
During the rest of our time we visited the Art Gallery, Portrait Gallery and Telstra Tower. We had a wine tour (I was the skipper) in The Yass Valley and were entertained by fireworks at Commonwealth Park on New Year’s Eve.
Tomorrow we are heading south to stay a few days at Merimbula on the NSW south coast. After that we will cross the border into Victoria. Next report before we get to Melbourne – hopefully!
