Broome - May 8th

Happy birthday Courtney
Kiwi Pete introduces himself to us and is curious about the kitchen on our camper. He
can't quite work out how it gets pulled out as most do these days. Our trailer is about
20 years old and the kitchen is attached to the rear of the trailer with a lid that lifts
up.He ominously tells us to drop his name to the tyre guy in Broome if we end up in need
after mentioning that we are going to do the Gibb River road. We talk of fishing and Gavern
almost sobs when Pete tells us he's sick of eating so much fish. He takes pity on us
and generously offers us some fish. It's then time to head to Broome.
We've arrived at just the right time to see the staircase to the moon phenomenon which
only happens for a few days when there is a full moon. As the moons rays shine across the
mud flats it gives the illusion of a staircase. Gavern has the camera at the ready and I can
kind of see the illusion. I turn to say something and he's disappeared. Turns out he
walked to another spot and got some great shots. NOT HAPPY JAN
