Gavern & Sue

Back To Index
It's finally time to leave the Gibb River road. We can categorically
say that we are gorged out. Gavern has had to replace the Anderson plug
as it somehow dislodged crossing the Durak river. We come to a
screeching halt when we reach the mighty Pentecost river. Gavern's
eyes are bulging and his adams apple is working overtime as he swallows.
There is a Britz van in front of us and we watch as it crosses. We can
delay no longer and with white knuckles we make our way across. I almost
need resuscitating as I forgot to breath. The guys in the Britz camper
think its so much fun they turn around and do it all again. We decide to
take a look at Wyndham before heading to Kununurra. I work for Wyndham
city in Victoria and knowing that both places are 2 of the fastest
growing municipalities I'm expecting a vast metropolis. Nothing
could be further from the truth. A number of people have told me that
the 5 river lookout is spectacular but i didn't get to look at it as
Gavern hightailed it out. The only reason we lasted more than 10 minutes
is because we stopped for coffee and cake and as I've already
mentioned food is Gavern's number 1 priority.
No Desk, No Boss, No Stress. :)

we lived in Wyndham in the late seventies and early eightie's there is more to wyndham than a lot of people see just by driving in. Pull up and camp for a few days and go exploring and you will find that it has some fantastic fishing and scenery and a lot of secret water holes that you use to be able to camp on and go fishing, but then agian I haven't been back since 1982 and I think it is time we went agian, I miss the kimberley, and have some very fond memories
