A catch up on some missing blog entries. June week 1

Gavern & Sue
Back To Index
4th of June - To infinity and beyond
It's only a short trip across the border from Kununarra to
Lake Argyle
but we suddenly lose an hour and a half with the time change. First stop is to the check out the infinity pool which gives
the impression that if you get too close to the edge you'll end up in the gorge.
5/6 We cruise
Lake Argyle
and check out the Damn Wall. It is a massive Lake system.

6/6 Step on this one
We travel through some beautiful countryside pulling up at the
Victoria
Crossing roadhouse
which has a large expanse of grass to set up on. Gavern was obviously having a bad day as
dealing with putting in the step can be the most arduous task after the tent pegs. We
usually put it in together as it needs to go in straight. Gavern in his wisdom has attempted
this on his own and ends up sitting on the floor throwing a tantrum and declaring that he has
bent the leg of the step. I don't think this is possible and suggest that we spray the
hole with wd40 which has helped on previous occasions that the step has stuck. I get a look
that suggests I'm a moron and a reminder that the leg is bent. I venture to suggest
that the spray might still help and I can hear the mutterings about a waste of time as he
retrieves the can from the car. I can tell that the step is being sprayed to humor me but lo
and behold the step just glides in as he tries to show me that it wasn't going to work.
We just both burst out laughing and then spend the remainder of the day watching the world
go by, beer in hand.

Victoria
Crossing has a wonderful Gorge view and and nice Escarpment walk. We also check out the old river crossing area, but tread carefully over ht erocky boulders as the signs about crocodiles still tend to make us stay well back from the water edge.
