Engine Watchdog

I finely got around to fitting the Engine Watchdog temp gauge (it's only taken around two and a haft month). I've got a bad hip.
Anyway it was quite easy to fit,
Mounted Sensor to a taped hole on the head just above the thermostat housing.
Mounted the Gauge under the cooling duct out of the way only with Velcro for now.
The Velcro didn't work so I mounted it with two self tapper screws today.
Took the troopy for a run up Greenmount and it reached 83 deg. c so I've set it at 85 deg. c, and will see how it goes.
24/05/2009 I have now set the alarm to 90 deg. c and on open country, Troopy by itself she is running at around 75 to 76 deg. c.

Hey Richard, I've just fitted the enginesaver low coolant alarm in anticipation of this years travels. Too slack to do it myself so the mechanic can do it when he does the pre-trip inspection and oil change. Cheers Mick.

I didn't go for the enginesaver low coolant alarm because of having to cut into the cooling system, Troopy came with 6 year 17500 km warranty and it's up this year so may look into to it then.
I like the look of the new units that are a sensor that can replace a plug.
Anyway we are off on the 25th of May, bad hip and all, you should be able to work them out.
