Fantastic and interesting blog, the flowers are awesome but I have to agree the white with the purple centre looks lovely, I also love the dusty pink with purple centres.
I would love to know why there are so many differing colours out there and nowhere else that I'm aware of, I'm going to have to do some research on that one. The pictures are magnificent, well done to the photographer, they did a great job.

Thanks for that Deanna,
We have not heard of other colour variations else where in Australia, but I could be wrong. When Roxby Downs puts on a flower display, people come from all over Australia to see them. All the pictures were taken my me, except for 3 by Fiona.

Great stuff Stephen, we were at Roxby and Andamooka in August/September nd the displays of flowers, especially the Sturt Peas was fabulous although we were not looking for the colour variations you have here.
Thanks for putting up the blog, that's a great part of Oz and so is the lower half around Port Pirie, Clare and Morgan. We didn't stay very long this time because of the rain but we will be going back again.

Hi Paul and Fiona
Thank for that. Yes that rain never seems to want to stop. As will have read, it rained in Roxby when we were there and will be getting more rain this weekend, which will keep those flowers going a lot longer.
Regards
Stephen

Wow! I am so impressed. They are truely a beautiful species of flower, and have long been my favourite. Much better than a bunch of roses or daffodils!

Hi David and Michelle
Thanks for that and yes they are our favourite flower. We were like kids in a lolly shop each time we found a different colour variation. If you want any pictures for your office use, I can do the same as last week.

Great stuff Stephen, magnificent photos.
We are heading over to the ferry in a few weeks, and we better hurry before they stop it.
Now it looks like we have to go to Roxby too now that you have whetted our appetite.
cheers

Hi Stephen,
such stunning flowers and foliage, and amazing range of colours. We have never yet managed to be in the right place at the right time to see the desert peas in bloom. Maybe next year.

Heather

Hi Heather
They are our favourite wild flower to come across. We have come across them many times but not like the numbers as around Roxby Downs. If you have some spare time, hook up the van and make the trip over to Roxby Downs. I was speaking to the Botanical Gardens in Adelaide and they said that with the constant rain, they will still be flowering well into December.
Cheers
Stephen
