Hi Bill, It was great to catch up with Greendog, Tony, Ruth and Ian. We enjoyed it so much there we are heading back again in August, with plans on staying at least a week this time. It is not too late to plan your trip, as the water is going to be there for a very long time and is a sight to see.
Cheers, Stephen

Hi Cuffs
Why wait for the next one, it could be decades away. There is no time like now.
The roads up that way are in first class condition at the moment, and there was even an old Falcon on the Ferry on the Sunday.
Cheers
Stephen

Stephen,
Thanks for the blog and your regular updates on the Forum. Your photographs of "Sunrise on the Cooper" are superb. You have wetted my appetite for a trip to the ferry. I have been to the Cooper (Innamincka) every year for the past seven years but this year I will be travelling through Queensland. I am now trying to make time to include a detour through Birdsville and down to the crossing on my way home to Mount Gambier.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob
Thanks for your comments. We enjojed it so much, we are going back. We are doing a very big loop, heading out east of Burra throught station country and in the back way to Kinchega. Up to Cameron Corner, down to Marree, up to Dalhousie, over the Simpson, Birdsville, Haddon Corner, Innamincka then a week back down at Etadunna by the ferry.
Cheers

Fantastic blog Stephen, great pics as well. I keep thinking it is ages away before we go but in reality it is only 8 weeks before we leave for the races, hopefully the water will be still up then. Can't wait.

Hi Deanne
That time will go very quick for you and as for the water, you will have no issues if it is still there. Just plan on making it an extended stay there and you will have a ball.
I know Ruth and Ian are looking forward to seeing you in Birdsville.
Regards, Stephen

Stephen, it was the best holiday we've ever had - so restful and lots of fun watching the current push you down the Creek towards Lake Eyre!!! It is fun to have good company around the camp fire.

Hi Ruth and Ian
Like you have said, it is the company that makes any trip great and it was great to catch up with you again. If you thought this was great, I can not wait until next year, start planting.
Best Regards,
Fiona and Stephen

Hi John, Thanks for that, and yes that is exactly what it is about, to encorough people to head up that and see one of the very rare displays that mother nature can dish out. We had travelled it many time from dust to flooding rains, but never with water like this. You will be very impressed when you see it.
Have a great trip.
Cheers
Stephen
