In God's country!!

Wow, just a quick travel update tonight. We have just spent the last week out on part of the glorious Mertondale station area of WA. The drive in was just stunning, and the drive out via a slightly different route was just as good.We camped in the vicinty of No 10 well, which was just like a small oasis in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Jodie and I had the place to ourselves, and it was great to just sit back and enjoy all the sunsets, sunrises and moon rises, plus the odd satellite spotting thrown in.
owners of the station, Jeff & judy Carter are very obliging and friendly folk and a simple phone call to get permission and to tell them of our movements is all it takes to enjoy your stay. Taking your dog in would be a definite no no, unless you have it musseled due to 1080 baits.Apart from that though, the total experience of WA though for us is just starting to warm up. the drive took us through some beautifu;l breakaway country, flat plains, spinifex covered areas and a few dry creek beds too. the
weather
has just been turning it on for us day after day. The Patrol is going like a train, although we tore the top off the broomstick antenna while negotiating a narrow track last nite just on dusk. Anyone thinking of doing the big trip..... just do it!! Dont let your kids be and excuse, make them a reason, to want to do it,so many people we have met have packed up house and home and are travelling with their kids. Anyway, we head further Nth tomorrow and will find another nice camp for the next week or so, take care to all. Unc & Jodie
