What does it mean to Explore Oz?

The answer is as big as our wide brown land!

It means turning to the north and the south,

the east and the west

Seeing red brown horizons and soft green places

Between ocean shores and beaches and the dunes of the desert

There are mountains and plains,

Forests and woodlands

Trees that are huge, ancient and iconic

Oceans in all their moods, rivers dry or in flood,

Ancient Rocks that have seen it all,

Waterfalls that tumble or run horizontal

Gorges and gashes and man made canyons

There is amazing wildlife: marsupials, birds,

whales, and lizards of all sizes

There are giants of the plant world and exquisite tiny flowers

There are special places and beautifiul places

All waiting to be explored and photographed

In bygone days travel was harder

Now we have technology to help

When we ExplorOz by car, by boat,

and by plane – and most importantly by foot.

We travel in groups or go solo

And have big busy camps and small special camps

We cook up a storm and meet problems “hands on”

We have moments of relaxation and moments of delight

Eager to take new tracks, some smooth, others rough, and then some…

We discover our history, European and Aboriginal

Our wonderful scenery, the mining and musters,

Giant ships and trains

We’ve seen art ancient and modern

From sunrise to sunset and the times in between

Our sturdy old Troopy has climbed dunes and danced in flowers

He’s our Exploring Oz home.... with more adventures to come.

Excellent range of pics from all over the country. Good effort John and Val. Is there anywhere in Oz that you haven't been?

Thanks Barnesy. Regrettably there are many more places that we haven't seen than we have actually seen - its a big country!

Fantastic shots! Jealous of your travels! :)
2 camping essentials: Gaffa Tape & WD40.
If it moves & it shouldn't use gaffa,
if doesn't move & it should use WD40!

Hi Jo, I reckon looking at other peoples photos is the next best thing to actually going there. Happy travels,

Hi Dave and Shaz, Glad you liked our photos. We certainly enjoyed taking them, though we are by no means speciaist photographers. We just like to record all the magnificent things that we see.

Cheers,
Val.
