Spent the weekend at Oallen Ford.

Oallen is on the Shoalhaven River about 60km south of Goulburn NSW.

Out of Wagga Saturday (had to umpire Mr 9's cricket...) Turn off the freeway at Goulburn and head south on Windellama Road. Good bitumen road a little narrow in places and only 5km of gravel before you reach the causeway.

Camping areas are up on the rise on the south side of the bridge/causeway. They are a bit sandy but there is plenty of shade and easy access down the hill to the river. You could camp down by the River but not so sure how the Shoalhaven floods...

There are swimming holes both up and downstream of the bridge but would recommend up. Below the bridge seemed a bit stagnant. Upstream of the bridge, there is a deep hole under the shade of a tree, perfect for nursing a cold ale as well as some nice rapids to swim in. We also met a bloke from Culburra who was gold panning but of course he wouldn't say how he was doing!

Not too many people around made for a restful weekend swimming and lazing around the River.

On the downside, we were amazed at the amount of rubbish some clowns leave behind. We filled 3 large bags just from our campsite...
Also judging by the tracks everywhere, it's trail-bike heaven so could be a bit noisy if you hit the wrong weekend...

Monday I have Friday on my mind...
