Thanks Michael, will have to keep this list handy.
BUT, aren't some of those things only available on prescription? eg. Maxalon. Would a supermarket or over-the-counter variety be available and suitable? eg. Dexsel or similar?

That's right Timbo.
In NSW (not sure about other states) you can buy a product over the counter called Anagraine that is a combination of Maxolon and Panadol.
In May 2010 the rules change so we will be able to sell Chlorsig without a script.
Sofradex, Amoxil and Keflex require scripts but most docs would prescribe them if you suggested they were for a remote area travel kit.
In NSW Ventolin needs an asthma card, but not a script.

Good list, Mick. I also carry a Sam splint (available from the EO shop). I also have a course of anti-biotics. My friendly local doc gives me a fresh script every time I am heading out on a trip.

Thanks for additional info Michael. Some members recommend getting a health check-up before remote area travel (most already get their car professionally checked before a trip, so why not yourself as well?) so it would not be a problem getting a script at this time for the items you mentioned.
