Sir Kev & Darkie commented:
The EO Trackme reckons you did 856km how does that fair with the actual kms done?? I noticed the spot tracking doesn't keep strictly with the track whereas the i Phone shows pretty good detail.
Is this due to the time between each units position being sent??
Cheers Kev

yes Kev - we did cover that distance exactly. The reason for the difference between the two device trackings is that when in service, the iPhone is continually tracking so it gives an accurate snail trail following the path driven. The Spot service however only sends position data periodically - on the spot site it doens't even connect the dots, but just gives pinpoints for where you are (every 15mins I think). When using a Spot device through EOTrackMe the EOserver grabs the spot positions every 20mins and draws straight lines between the last position and the next position. Hope that clarifies.
